I had the opportunity to this week to photograph a circus! Zoppe Circus is a family-friendly, delightful show of daring feats interspersed with a digital display that shares historical footage and the story of their troupe. Their circus is indeed about family! Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Zoppe has created a safe drive-in venue which makes for a unique experience.

Tucson! I encourage you to see Zoppe Circus which is set up on the vacant lot across from MSA Annex, just west of downtown. They have afternoon and evening performances through the end of January. Please support them if you can as they have had to cancel several shows due to the rain this week. I will be photographing the 4pm show on Saturday, 1/30. Be sure to say hi!

My appearance takes after my dad, but my culture and upbringing are definitely that of my mom. This has always caused an internal struggle, or identity crisis. I have always been too white for Mexicans and too Mexican for white people.
