It is a tremendous honor when I am contacted by agencies to document a highly special occasion. Photographing the reunion of Mr. Kashmoola and son Mustafa’s reunion with Bahjat, their son and brother is one such experience. The family had been separated for 10 years in part due to the lengthy immigration process. Community members come together to sponsor a family member in an effort to expedite the reunion. The family is now continuing in their efforts to be reunited with the son’s mother and Mr. Kashmoola’s wife. To learn more about these wonderful organizations:
Here are some additional images from this wonderful assignment:

I am honored and grateful to share that Kathleen Dreier Photography is among the nominees for Tucson Weekly’s annual Best of Tucson publication in the photographer category.
Three Tucson-based organizations, Local First Arizona, StartUp Tucson, and the LGBT Chamber of Commerce, teamed up to create a mega-networking event with their respective members and guests. Link to the photo album is included.
I have been a longtime member of Social Documentary Network, an online forum for documentary photographers from around the world to post galleries of their work related to social justice topics of all kinds. With the ongoing polarization attached to the plethora of issues in the United States, the intention of the Voices of Race portrait series is to amplify perspectives, encourage civil discourse, foster understanding of our individual and collective history, and to be a call of action for all to be social change agents
In the March 2024, I spent a delightful couple mornings taking portraits of approximately 300 elementary-aged students at a local Tucson school, Da Vinci Tree Academy. This is a small sampling of the students that I photographed.
